Flex Completes EPC Power Acquisition

Flex has completed its acquisition of EPC Power, a provider of intelligent power conversion solutions for data centers and electrical grid applications. The acquisition expands Flex’s Cloud and Power Infrastructure portfolio and strengthens its power conversion, grid stabilization, and next-generation AI infrastructure support capabilities.
EPC Power develops power conversion systems that combine proprietary hardware, software, and control technologies. US-based engineering and manufacturing operations support its solutions, and it has more than 15 GW of deployed capacity.
The company’s technology supports applications such as grid stabilization and backup power, meeting requirements for reliable energy delivery across data centers and electrical infrastructure. Integrating EPC Power into Flex’s Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment expands the company’s capabilities across power, cooling, and computing systems.
The acquisition comes as AI data centers increase rack power density and place greater demands on electrical distribution and conversion infrastructure. Flex is expanding its portfolio to address these requirements, including the transition toward 800V power architectures for next-generation data centers.
Higher-voltage distribution architectures are intended to support increasing power demands while helping manage current levels, resistive losses, and the physical requirements of power delivery systems. EPC Power’s power conversion platform is engineered to support these emerging architectures and complements Flex’s existing infrastructure capabilities.
The combined portfolio positions Flex to address a broader range of power infrastructure requirements, from conversion and backup power to grid-interactive systems. These capabilities are increasingly important as AI computing deployments scale and require coordinated approaches to power delivery, thermal management, and system integration.
Flex also announced plans to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into an independent, publicly traded company, Axiom Solutions International, Inc. The company plans to complete the separation in the first calendar quarter of 2027.
The proposed transaction would create a standalone company focused on this segment, which includes infrastructure solutions that meet growing demand for AI computing and advanced data center power systems.
