XP Power Expands Medical Power Portfolio with UCH750 Series

XP Power has introduced the UCH750 series of 750W convection-cooled AC-DC power supplies for medical and industrial equipment requiring quiet operation, high efficiency, and reliable performance. The compact, chassis-mount series eliminates cooling fans, reducing acoustic noise and removing a wear-prone mechanical component. This makes the supplies suitable for noise-sensitive applications, including medical imaging, patient monitoring, diagnostic instruments, treatment equipment, and home healthcare devices.
The UCH750 series achieves up to 96% conversion efficiency, reducing power losses and the associated thermal load within the host equipment. Each unit measures 203.2 × 127.0 × 40.0 mm, allowing integration into space-constrained systems.
Convection cooling eliminates fan-related noise and can reduce maintenance requirements. The supplies are designed for applications requiring continuous operation and low acoustic emissions, including hospital equipment, factory automation, semiconductor manufacturing, test-and-measurement systems, and telecommunications infrastructure.
The UCH750 series supports medical equipment requiring BF (Body Floating) applied-part classification, where patient protection and leakage-current control are key design considerations. The supplies provide two Means of Patient Protection (2 × MOPP) of isolation between input and output, with a maximum patient leakage current of 100 µA under 264 VAC, 60 Hz conditions.
The series reports to IEC 60601-1 and has UL and TÜV safety approvals. Class I and Class II versions are available, with Class II configurations offering an option for equipment designs requiring this protection arrangement, including certain home healthcare applications such as dialysis machines.
IEC 62368-1 safety approvals also support integration into information technology and industrial equipment. In addition, the UCH750 meets EN 55032 Class B limits for conducted and radiated emissions.
Five models provide nominal DC outputs of 12 V, 24 V, 36 V, 48 V, and 54 V from a universal 90–264 VAC input. The unit delivers the full 750 W output from a 100 VAC input at ambient temperatures up to +50°C.
Additional features include remote on/off control, a 5 VDC/2 A standby output for powering control circuitry when the main output is disabled, and built-in protection against overload, short circuit, overvoltage, and overtemperature.
The UCH750 series is available through Avnet Abacus, DigiKey, element14, Farnell, Mouser, RS, TME, authorized regional distributors, and directly from XP Power. The series is supplied with a three-year warranty.
