Delta Unveils SST-Based DC Power System for AI Data Centers.

Delta is showcasing its latest microgrid solutions for AI factories, high-performance computing (HPC) data centers, and smart manufacturing at Energy Taiwan 2026. Under the theme “Resilient Energy, Powering the AI Future,” the company is presenting a prefabricated DC power system based on solid-state transformers (SSTs), alongside on-site generation, energy storage, and intelligent energy management technologies.

Designed for AI infrastructure, Delta’s prefabricated DC power system integrates its SSTs, DC/DC converters, and control equipment in a containerized architecture. The system reduces the number of power conversion stages and achieves SST energy efficiency of up to 98.5%. According to Delta, its implementation can improve grid-to-chip energy efficiency in AI data centers by 4–5%.

The system can incorporate high-C-rate batteries to respond to rapid variations in AI workloads. This configuration provides millisecond-level power support to help stabilize power delivery during load fluctuations. Its modular, prefabricated design also reduces on-site wiring, installation, and commissioning requirements, potentially shortening deployment time by up to 50%. The architecture supports future capacity expansion as computing demand increases.

Delta is also presenting solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) technology for distributed power generation. The solution can operate alongside the utility grid, energy storage, and other energy resources, reducing dependence on a single power source and improving supply flexibility.

SOFC systems generate electricity through an electrochemical process. With heat recovery, overall system efficiency can reach up to 85%. This approach is intended for applications requiring continuous power, including AI data centers, manufacturing facilities, and critical infrastructure. Delta plans to begin trial production of its SOFC solution by the end of 2026.

Delta’s exhibition also includes EnergiQ, a digital energy management platform developed by its ESG Consulting Office and supported by energy-saving consulting services. Built around the ISO 50001 energy management methodology, EnergiQ supports equipment and system identification, defining and tracking energy performance indicators (EnPIs), establishing energy baselines, and monitoring energy-efficiency projects.

Delta is presenting its microgrid solutions at Energy Taiwan 2026 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1, 4F, Booth M0319a, from October 14 to 16. The exhibition also features expert presentations involving representatives from Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute, Taiwan Institute of Economic Research, and Delta’s smart energy and microgrid teams.
